There have been many changes to Our Lady of Sorrows School; and it is not just due to the pandemic. Mrs. Dieckman took an administration position in another community to be with her husband who also took an administration position out of town. Fortunately, we were able to hire Mary Cormican as the new principal. She comes to us with much administrative experience and a deep love for the Catholic faith and Catholic schools. She will begin on August 3rd.
In the meantime, we have hired Mary Schmitt as the Grade 3 teacher and Rachel Berry as the Grades 4/5 teacher. Both teachers come with excitement and energy to share with students.
Margie Gerber retired as the school secretary. Taking her place is Katelyn Schneider. Katelyn will continue as the director of food service, while assuming the role of school secretary. We are grateful to have someone with that much experience with the school community to be in the secretary’s office.
Two aides have been hired to assist Keely Sanderson with 3K & 4K students and Kelly Tindol with students in Grades 1 & 2. Tammy Busse will assist in the mornings. Meggan Meisegeier will assist in the afternoons. Both will be great support for our teachers and students.
As can be imagined, there has been much discussion and planning for the start of the school year. It is the goal of OLS School to begin school as scheduled on August 25. We plan to meet in-person five days a week. We have been working on alternate plans, should local and diocesan mandates require otherwise.
Please watch for updates as we get closer to the start of school. You can contact the school office at 715-532-3232 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
Thank you to everyone for your patience as we strive to provide the best possible education in a safe and faith-filled environment.
Bob Lecheler, Administrative Assistant
