I graduated from UW-Oshkosh in 2011 in Elementary Education (1-8). For a brief while, I moved to Ladysmith to substitute teach and worked in the Bruce School district across all grade levels for about a year. Not long after that, I was offered a full-time position, at a large company known as Kindercare, with preschool age children. I did that for about three and a half years and absolutely enjoyed preparing children for Kindergarten.
When my husband was finally offered a chance to move up here for his job, I took some time off to focus on being a mom to my daughter who is now old enough to attend Our Lady of Sorrows. About half a year later, I returned back to substitute teaching at the Bruce School district, while working at WalMart (part time) in Ladysmith-it was very important for me to help my daughter get settled in with a new place and routine while she was so young.
I have a younger brother who was in the Marine Corps, and is a survivor of cancer. I have one nephew, who is both bright and amazing! He goes across the United States all year long and competes in karate competition and he never ceases to amaze me with all the trophies he gets. It is so amazing to see someone (child or adult) find their passion and excel at it! I love watching his performances.
I have a daughter and a son. Our family also have two ‘fur babies’ (cat and a dog) that have been part of our family for twelve and three years. My parents retired and moved up here, which was the big reason for my family and I to uproot from the Oshkosh area and come to Ladysmith.
